Monthly Highlight

Summer highlights include the opening of The Lure of the Rails, curated by James Tyler featuring photographer Kenneth Karlewicz.  Every artist’s journey begins with a source of inspiration.

“It is my hope that by viewing my photographs, you may travel along with me to places you’ve never been, experiencing the power, romance and majesty of trains and ultimately, the Lure of the Rails.”  Ken Karlewicz  – May 17, 2024 Exhibition dates are May 18 – July 21, 2024.  Gallery hours Fridays 2-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 1-5pm.  Closing reception July 20, 2024 6-8pm.

Creekside installation by Cristina Biaggi The Web & The NestThe Web is a double-sided, 45 feet in diameter collage on cloth panels connected by red ropes depicting women’s political actions throughout the ages and throughout the world.  The Nest inspired by avian architecture, these nests are not meant to be copies of bird dwellings, but rather inspired by them. 18 copies of these sculptures have been created for various sculpture parks (deCordova Museum, Europaparkas in Vilnius, Lithuania, Bex Sculpture Park in Bex Switzerland, etc.).  Exhibition dates are May 18 – August 26, 2024.  Opening reception June 22, 2024 3-5pm and artist talk July 27, 2024 3-5pm.

Outdoor films part of Upstate Art Weekend @GARNER Arts Center July 18-21, 2024 to be held July 20, 2024.  Doors open at 8pm featuring silent films scored by Herve Alexandre and co-curated by Rivertown Film.
